Too Mean?

The truth hurts sometimes.
Just let go and even if you feel completely vulnerable you'll always look back and wonder what if?

One of my good friends just asked me why he or she is having problems with relationships (this friend has some commitment issues). There is a certain person involved who is clearly interested in my friend, so I honestly responded, "your problem is that you have someone who is showing interest in you; but you've been burned in the past and don't want to dive into a new relationship when you don't even know what will happen. You're too scared of what might happen to just let go, dive in and enjoy the ride. So even if it's crazy, even if you're scared, even if you feel like you'll have to work for it ... go for it! Because at least you'll know you gave it your ALL and have no regrets."

Was that too mean to say?
Too blunt?
Too straight forward?
If so I'm sorry.
But stop wasting time wondering and like Nike, "Do It."

  1. I don't think that pointing out fear is mean. I think it's a totally helpful comment to a friend!
